Google’s new headquarters in New York is located at 550 Washington Street. We are proud to be part of this project as the structural engineers responsible for the entire envelope of the building. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Oxford Properties, the 12-story project involved the adaptive reuse of a 90-year-old former freight terminal and serves as the centerpiece of the 1.7-million-square-foot Googleplex master plan.

The elevation of the building is entirely covered by a unitized facade, composed of both vision panels and opaque ones. In contrast, the lower portion consists of stick system facades. The main entrance features steel mullions that span all the way up to the upper floor. On the sides, facades are installed within the historic masonry walls of the building.
