Short Description / Structural consulting for the glazing facade
Year / 2017
Location / London
Architect / Fletcher Priest Architects

One Angle Court project, developed by Fletcher Priest Architects and located in the heart of the City of London, consists of the demolishing of an entire 1970s 21-storey building, except for its concrete core. The rebuilding provides significantly larger spaces and additional floors and the new skin covers the volume from floor to ceiling glazing.

MEW was commissioned by Focchi group for technical assistance in static analysis of the whole external envelope of the building, the glazing tower and the stone podium. The tower’s skin runs as a continuously curved surface across its entire volume wrapping octagonal floors; its peculiarity is the sloped facade façade which involves the first 8th floors starting from the ground.
